Do you ever find yourself “wandering in the desert,” spiritually thirsty and hungry for intimacy with God?  Do you ever feel lost and alone?  If so, we here at Whitney United Methodist Church encourage you to “find your way back home” using the RMAP, a simple to use and easy to understand weekly guide for keeping in touch with God. 

Following the four direction points on the map will assist you in not only building up a closer relationship with “home” but with those who live there with you.

Read - The beginning of each weekly guide provides you with a contextual     background of the Bible passage for the week followed by the passage and a key focus point.  The background helps to "see the big picture" by providing an overview for the scriptural text.

Meditate - A brief meditation is included with the passage followed by some questions meant to stimulate the work of the Holy Spirit in your reading of the text.  Through your meditation on the passage, you will be encourage to ask your own questions as well.

Apply - A space for journaling your thoughts on the meditation.  Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you will find answers to the questions that are raised by the passage.  In this direction point, you are given an opportunity to share how these answers will help to change your spiritual life, deepen your sense of discipleship, and help you find your way "back home."

Pray and practice -The last direction on the map is where you create your own personal plan of action.  THis point begins with a closing reflection followed by a prayer you are invited to pray.  You will be asked to write down "how this passage spoke to me" and "how my life will be transformed by it."

  Writing out these directions on paper makes the goal of getting closer with God real!  By using the map consistently on a weekly basis, you will indeed find yourself growing in intimacy with God and the rest of your believing community - those who seek to make heaven in the here and now with you.
